What height should I install my rack to?
Refer to the table in the installation guide to determine the estimated mounting bracket location. For best practice it is recommended to leave no less than a fingers thickness between the bottom of the rack platform and tire/fender. Space Racks are designed to bias closer to this minimum distance rather leaving a very large gap between your rack and tire/fender. This creates better bike handling, keeping the unloaded and loaded weight lower and closer to your steering axis.

What is the weight limit of your racks?
The weight limit ranges depending on the rack. 
Tesser Rack: 32lbs (14.5kg) 
Liminal Rack: 25lbs (11.3kg) 
Simplex w/ Cantilever Legs: 20lb (9kg) 
Simplex w/ Adjustable Struts: 12lb (5.4kg) 
While the racks have been static load tested to a far higher weight, adding more weight to the rack beyond the stated value not only becomes structurally unsafe, but reduces the ride quality and handling. If you are looking to regularly carry a lot of weight, a cargo specific fork or cargo bike is best. Space Racks is a big fan of cargo bikes :)

Will the rack work with my brakes?
Most all racks are designed to work with all types of brakes: Disc brakes, direct-pull brakes (linear-pull or v), cantilever brakes, and most caliper brakes. Email info@spaceracks.com if you have any questions on brake compatibility.

Does the rack allow internal wire routing for dynamo lights?
No, but email me at info@spaceracks.com and I’d be open to adding a port to the left or right leg of your choosing for an additional charge. This would be for the Tesser rack or the Liminal rack only. An exit hole already exists at the lower rack tab.

Can you do custom colors?
Other than Silver and Black, I am not currently, but in the future I may add an up charge for specific RAL powder coat colors.

Are the racks compatible with carbon frames and forks?
Short answer is you need to check with the manufacturer of your frame and fork. Most bicycle manufacturers strictly prohibit mounting traditional racks to carbon forks unless the fork features factory-installed reinforced cargo eyelets. For the higher weight capacity Tesser rack and Liminal rack, I recommend your carbon fork be thru axle compatible and use the Old Man Mountain’s fit kit system. This allows your rack to carry the majority of the weight directly on the axle, rather than the lower threaded eyelets. 

Do you make custom racks? 
Currently I do not make custom racks. To accurately dimension and fabricate a rack to your frame & fork, I would need to temporarily hold your bike. The design of Space Racks aims to adapt to most bicycle frames and forks. If you are looking to get a custom rack made for your bike, I highly recommend reaching out to your local framebuilder to get a quote and lead time.
